North Americal leg Support acts

I know it must be somewhere buried in a thread in the tour forums, but could someone give me a list of the support acts on the current North American leg of the tour with the exact dates? I'm especially interested in Muse, but I would like to know the rest as well. When and where are they performing? Thanks a lot.

I know the Peas have been beat down alot already as an opening act this tour, but I was open to the idea at least of seeing them live.

Last night though on the NFL kickoff show, they looked and sounded HORRIBLE. It was weird that they seemed to have no energy. Not much moving around stage, etc. Dunno, maybe the producers asked them to stay in one spot, but it was boring to watch that performance. The performance also left something to be desired from a musical standpoint for me. :|

Who knows, maybe it was an off night and they will impress at the Rose Bowl. It can't be worse than the Damien Marley opener at Oakland last tour can it?

I was watching that as well. God they suck! I never heard of them until I saw they were opening some U2 shows. Bunch of talentless twits.

do any of them play an instrument?

I have to suffer through the crappy Black Eye Peas. :(

shall my sign read, "You Suck!" or "Get off the stage!"? :hmm:

Aw, that would be sad. Yes, the BEP's suck but we don't have to be rude to them. I know you're probably kidding but it just made me sad. I actually tried really hard to like them when I found out I'd have to stand through their set TWICE but to no avail.

I saw U2/Kanye West on the Vertigo tour. It wasn't bad. Yeah, Kanye is a prick these days but he sure did put on a good opener. Bono introduced him to kind of squelch the doubters and that was really neat. From what I hear the BEP are a high energy live act that will do their best to put on an entertaining show. Yeah, it is not for everyone's tastes and that I can understand. I am open to everything. I was doubtful of liking Snow Patrol but they were good too.

ya, I wouldn't make that sign. I'm just hacked off that we get that crap opener.

I just completed my 3 Snow Patrol concerts in 4 days tour, and I love them as much as ever. It would have been nice if they had changed their set from Chi1 to Chi2, but whatever. Gary is just a charming MFer. I assume his constant giggling was from whatever you folks were doing/saying in the inner circle.

I'd like to thank the BEFPs ahead of the Vegas and LA shows. The promise of their performance gives me the option of drinking right up until U2 comes out.

I may give them half a chance. We'll see.

Glad to hear it! Early Snow Patrol was fun and odd, Final Straw is one of my favorite rock albums of the decade and A Hundred Million Suns was lush and poetic... we won't talk much about Eyes Open.

I liked a couple of songs off Eyes Open right away, but slowly most the rest of the songs have really grown on me.

It's Beginning To Get To Me is just an awesome song:

"And it's beginning to get to me
That I know more of the stars and sea
Than I do of what's in your head
Barely touching in our cold bed"

I still can't believe the BEP's are opening for U2. I don't see how this is going to going over well with a U2 crowd or pretty much any crowd.

I haven't liked Snow Patrol's last two albums that much, but they were seriously charming in Chicago. You could tell how incredibly giddy they were to be playing on the tour.

I am looking forward to seeing them!! I will have seen Snow Patrol, Muse and BEP's at least once each!

The lead singer is very quirky. I love that. :)

i love that too.. Quirky-geeky but cute.. You should read the article in Spin (they were on the cover) it was pretty funny. The interviewer called him "AppleCheeks" throughout the whole article..

yes, he's quite eccentric. He is all into conspiracy theories and stuff like that. And boy try understanding what he says when he talks.. He talks so fast you need a interpreter to understand him.. It's pretty funny. You should go check out some of their interviews and you will see what I mean. They are hilariously funny in most interviews and matt has this laugh that just cracks me up.

...yes i am kinda a fangirl :reject:

I like some of the songwriting on the album just fine, but the sound is just way to mellow and lost, and the lyrics that cover the same areas as Final Straw are done in a much more blunt way, but his best lyrics for me were on the latest album. I like some of it, but I'm also a tad disappointed that that's the only sound the US knows them for.

However, 'Set the Fire to the Third Bar' makes it all worthwhile

After getting to see Snow Patrol open three times, I'm a fan. Just downloaded a load of songs off iTunes. BEP? Uhh, yeah. It will be interesting to see them jumping around the Claw

Personally I wish Snow Patrol had been TO1 an BEP TO2. I found SP to be repetitive and a tad boring imo.

I said it earlier in the thread, but I would have loved to have seen the BEP open, I don't get all this bitching about them. I'm not a fan of hip-hop by any means, but there are a few exceptions here and there that I find, and BEPs have a couple of decent songs. I've also really liked Fergie's solo material. I think seeing a band as an opener is great exposure to music you wouldn't ordinarily listen to.

As for Snow Patrol, I like a couple of their songs, but mostly find them bland. That said, I did find Lightbody absolutely adorable, charming and charismatic, and he made me wish I liked their music more, so I may give them another chance. :)

I think more than anything, I love to dance to get warmed up for U2. BEP, like Kanye did, can likely do that for me. Also, and I know this isn't the same, but I saw a pay per view concert of BEPs and I was suitably impressed with their stamina, charisma and stage presence, it was infectious even through the TV screen.

SP's music is rather bland. I do agree with the assessment of the singer however. He was quirky and likeable kindof like that self-depreciating guy you knew in a band in school, and that made me like the songs some more. He felt genuine, at least, so I forgave him his "one of the best" comment  I thought the bass player had great stage presence too.

I went to my one and only U2 show last night and I liked Snow Patrol. I did appreciate the humility of the lead singer, it was refreshing. I would much rather see them than Fergilicious-just saying.
