Gregory Peck as a Nazi bitching at James Mason as a chillaxed Nazi is fucking ridiculous. I love it.

Well since you said "movies", as in plural, then you must be praising Dances With Wolves.

Which might open you up to even more ridicule.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. A "good movie." Reasonably fine-crafted bit of toss-away cinema that I've found enjoyable to watch on repeat viewings. But of course it won some awards so it has to receive an inordinate degree of hate to balance things out. Whatever.

Can I just say that while I know some of you cats know a ton more about film than I do, I find it hard to believe that you'd sit and watch Dances With Wolves and claim to not enjoy it. I just do.

Yeah, he's trying to clone fucking Hitler.

Sorry NSW, this may now be my favorite '70s movie involving Nazis.

Did you used to watch it with Stands With A Fist In when you were younger?

Please note that it was Kevin Reynolds who directed the buffalo stampede. A bunch of generic pretty landcapes, and some white liberal guilt pap.

You're on a big Oswalt kick lately, wow.

He did make a lasting contribution to my lexicon, though.

He was telling some joke that involved him using the non-sensical word "Squibbidy-doo" which I immediately loved and proceeded to steal and make mine.

It's sad. He's like my comedy hero right now. Plus the Lady Friend and I listened to one of his albums together and it's sort of nostalgic for me right now.

It's the nonsense he spouts after his jokes that make him awesome. "Sprinkle some fries on those cupcakes" being a favorite of mine.

I caught a few minutes of his new special the other night. Awesome stuff. Patton's certainly one of the best.

Honestly, I was underwhelmed by My Weakness is Strong. Not even close to the last album.

Werewolves is amazing from start-to-finish. I'd say Weakness picks up right around the rat story going right into the orgy bit, peaks with "Sky Cake," and kind of goes down after that.

I'd put it firmly between his first album and Werewolves though.

I feel the need to add this to the mix. Do with it what you will.

My honors thesis was called Punks, Drunks, Lobos, and Zip-heads. It was about Jackass and cult/post-cult film self-historiography. And it was good fun. That's all.

Other random bit of information, I'll be assisting on ADR/probably some sound re-recording mixing on a TV pilot this semester.
