I just read this on MSN. I loved to watch her shows when I was a kid. I would pretend I was her while playing in the sand box making sand cakes and such.

:(
Read some interesting trvia about Julia.
She was a member of the OSS. during WWII. She posed as a nurse, gathering
information from injured Germans .
OSS in England was the "father" of our
CIA in the US.

this is so sad to hear. i haven't heard about it yet

i remember watching her cooking shows when i was a kid.

This was a life well lived.

She and her husband, Paul, obviously had a great romance throughout their lives. They're together again now.

Julia also had a great attitude towards using fats in cooking. She believed that people should use butter and cream to make dishes taste delicious, and didn't like many low-fat recipes. That's in keeping with the ideals of French cuisine...people don't snack constantly in that country, and their portions aren't as big, so they can enjoy food prepared with butter at mealtime.

What a great lady.

I enjoyed watching her as a guest on several Food TV shows not long ago. What a fun lady with a great passion for food. She will be missed.

I too remember watching Julia when I was a child. I always loved her laid back approach to working with food. She was a master of her craft but never took herself too seriously. She will be sadly missed.
