I hate closed threads. Hate them with a passion. If people don't like them, they can just stop posting, damn it! Arrgghh.

Some threads have to be closed to preserve good will and stop arguments. Mods do not take the decision to close a thread lightly -- and we are always available to talk if you feel that a thread was unjustly closed. Also, some threads can be rescued by people attempting to steer it back on course if it veers.

I'm always more tempted to read a thread once it's been closed :shifty:

Seriously, HA is right - we do take closings very seriously, we are not trying to squash people's fun - when threads get derailed, regardless of the original topic, sometimes closing is our only option to keep a certain level of decorum around here.

Yeah! 'Cause those are the fun ones!

A blasted thread was closed as I was working on a reply! That is always so irritating! Ya work on a reply, get it where you want it, click submit reply, and ***poof*** the damn thing disappears, replaced by a Sorry! This thread is closed, message. Urrrgggghhhh!!!! :madspit: :banghead:

well, I can't speak on behalf of the other mods
bu I only close threads because I have a bad temper and truly hate all of you

so it has nothing to do with any of you :)

I joke that I love closing threads, but I actually don't...I usually fear that the person who started it (and sometimes others) will be offended, so I tend to try to be as nice as possible with the closures. Sometimes though...I don't feel bad because the thread was just asking for it.

Interference is not our world, we are only visiting. The Mods have a difficult role, one that is largely transparent to the average user.

We should second-guess closed threads, try to restart closed threads or make public comments on closed threads. Mods are accessible by email or PM.

I dont enjoy it.. :eyebrow:

It's the age old scenario, damned if we do, damned if we dont. No matter what we do, someone will always be unhappy

the ones who enjoy closing threads are not visiting this thread...

else it would have been closed by now.

:silent:

I think you want this thread closed you know!

posting threads about having your threads closed usually gets your thread closed :shifty: say that five times fast

we've all had our run ins with those in mod world over the closing of a thread... and we all get bitchy about it for about a week and then suck it up, move on, and adapt. you get used to it... rules are rules, and with the exception of one person, this place isn't run by you, so you have to live by the rules.
