That's easy. In the words of Snow Patrol: "Just Say Yes" :)

I've made the decision a long time ago. The only thing I'm waiting for is official confirmation and I'll be booking my flight.
Plus, if I wouldn't go, someone would kill me. At least, that's what she said... :uhoh:
So yeah, I'm forced against my will to witness U2 in South America... :|

:hyper:

You are damn right I will! :lmao:

Will they be announcing the SA tour this year? Maybe they should wait till like 2 weeks before the concerts.

But the airfare is $1500 right now. :yikes: :scream:

Hey Nick!

Thanks, it'll be a blast here in Mexico City! Hope you can make arrangements to come to the shows, I'm sure you won't regret

I'm still not sure about going to South America, it depends on the dates of the shows but I'm really considering going there. I still remember how amazed I was after seeing Popmart Chile and then U23D with our Latinoamerican brothers rocking so hard! .

In case I go, I'd only make Chile-Argentina, not Brazil (unfortunately, because I'd have no more vacation days....and $$$).

So, u2.com, please put me out of my misery and announce the dates now!!

:madwife:

Fer, congratulations on getting 3 shows for DF!

Are you also going to the the South America shows? I'm considering seeing all six (Chile, Argentina and Brasil), let me know if you have any tips for hotels near the stadiums.

That piece of info is not correct: as the local producer did not get permission to have the shows at River Plate Stadium, it is more than likely that they will take place in La Plata, not Velez Sarsfield Stadium.

And also, they are supposed to play a second gig on April 1st. :D

Hi Niahm

And how hard do you think it would be for a tourist to go to La Plata? :hmm:

I mean, what would you suggest to get there? Is it too far from the center of Buenos Aires?

Tnx! :)

My friend who lives in Sao Paulo wrote this today:

"Boa Tarde Nick...

I'm so happy that you intend to come to Sao Paulo...

Well everyone here is talking about Morumbi Stadium...But don't worry about hotels... because there are many in this location ...

The only thing that you should care about is the tickets.. You'll need to buy at U2.com.. because in 2006 they sold out in one hour..and I remember the line around the stadium happened 4 days before the show...

Yeah the Brazilians are crazy for U2 hahaha ..

Any doubt just ask!!!"

Four days :crack:

Yeah, I booked a private two-person room at a hostel in La Plata from 29 March - 2 April for only USD $33 per night. It's cheap and basic, but I figure we'll be in line most of the day and night anyway.

Fer, I don't think DF is a possibility this time, since I'll be blowing my retirement savings on this South America trip instead. But, if I win the lottery, I will definitely be there!
Are you going to Buenos Aires alone, or with your woman? If it's only you, you're welcome to share the room in La Plata with me, no problem. As long as you don't snore :reject:

the line for tickets started here at around 7 am the very same day... not 4 days in advance, so you're ok

BTW, how do you plan to buy tickets for the southamerican shows, Nick?

Great, thanks for the info, Pepo! I plan on arriving in Santiago on 23 March in the early morning, so I'm happy to know that thousands of fans will not already be in the queue

I guess I should buy the tickets via the U2.com presale, no? I hope they will allow us to buy four tickets to four different shows, not like in Europe where you had to buy four tickets to only one show. That would involve a lot of ticket trading :|

I am praying that the pre-sale is not like Europe, or at the very least that they will let you buy multiple shows within one country.

Hey Pop Artist, if it's like the Europe system, maybe we can get a group of us together and have each person buy tickets for separate shows, then trade them with each other as needed :hmm:

Though, they might require Will Call for all the tickets, which might complicate things a bit....

Hi Nick!

If I go to Buenos Aires it will be only me, so it would be a good idea to share the room in La Plata, thanks for the offer (and no, I don't snore; or at least I've never heard myself doing it  )

Cool, sounds good! I booked the room for four nights, from 29 March - 2 April. This assumes the first show is on 31 March, giving us two or three days to queue. I will adjust the dates if the concerts are played at another time, of course.

The hostel is located about a 30 minute walk from Estadio Unico, but maybe we can rent bicycles instead:

Hostel del bosque : Ciudad de La Plata

They only take cash, so we can pay when we get there.

What hostel did you book Nick? I'm planning to book something myself too but I haven't looked at any places yet. Is it near the stadium? I can't even remember where it is located exactly; last time I was in la Plata I was about 14 years old.

If they require Will Call for the tickets, I'm willing to help whoever is coming from abroad for the shows: getting info, making a few phone calls, making sure they have the tickets. Just let me know. :)

Ah, here is the answer to my previous question. I should read more posts before hitting the reply button. :D

That would be nice! Although, I am looking at getting seats for those shows, I will not do GA down there (and I don't always here either), they're too crazy. :D Plus I don't want to spend time queueing on vacation. So that might not work with me.

Really going to get plans sketched out this weekend so I can jump on things once they actually make the announcement!

Thanks! Hopefully they won't make it too difficult for those abroad.

An Irish friend of me who lives in Dublin and New York just messaged me and said he talked to Sam and he (Sam) said that he didn't know the exact dates for the gigs in BA but he reckons that 2 weeks after South Africa they will touch down in Buenos Aires. :hyper:

Oh! And he said that the band are in the studio right now. :D

Does your Irish friend have any information about potential shows in Ireland to wrap up the tour?

I am dying for more rumors about it!
