Listening to the TOTP version of Vertigo, it seems that it differs from the radio version. Especially after the "and no-one gets hurt bit" (2:25 into the song), an extra guitar part can be heard on the background. Or is it Edge playing live as well? What's your opinion?

it feels like all 3 versions were "single" versions, especially because of the shorter version of city of blinding lights... mind you, the studio music video they released of vertigo had the drop out (which i'm assuming will be on the album version as well), but other than that it was exactly the same as the single version

you're right about the dropout. It's missing on the TOTP version as well. Therefore, this seems to be the single version.
However, if you listen carefully after 2:25, you can hear Edge playing another guitar part (melody line) playing on top of the 'regular' guitar part. This seems to be missing on the radio/single versions that have been released on the internet.

it sounds like the Air Raid Siren sound, which plays at about 1:45 into the single version
