I was going to say "does that mean I get to eat something irish...

Pleba spoiler, since Mark doesn't want his thread pleban!

2 months! I'm probably going to cry at this show, because it will be my last show for this tour.

it's my only show of this leg of the tour :grumpy: I just started a new job in Jan and I'm not comfortable asking for time off just yet so I have to give up tickets to other shows. There is one show I could make a road trip out of and not miss work, and there's affordable tickets on stubhub, but I'm going to just think about it for a little longer.

no...St Louis. I'm off Sun/Mon as my weekend and the concert is on Sunday. It would be a 10 hr drive from Mpls. I'm a chef so I work super early. I could easily leave after work on Sat go to the concert on Sun and drive back on Monday. :crack: But...I'd have to do a lot of convincing with my friends to get one of them to go. More than likely I'd have to pay for the concert ticket and some portion of their travel expenses. I do have tickets to the Pittsburg show but airfare is more than I want to spend, plus I'd have to ask for a few days off. I probably could make it to the Nashville one since my place is closed all weekend. Never thought about that but I'd have to buy a plane ticket to go.

I saw U2 11 times in 8 months on the Vertigo tour so it's all good if I only go to show this summer...I think. :(

:shifty: sorry to derail but it seems like everyone in this thread is knowledgable about this stuff and I'm clueless since until this weekend I had accepted that I was only going to one show.

I just looked on ticketmaster, just for the hell of it just in case I can get someone to drive with me to St Louis. Anyways it took me to the stadium's website and there's tickets available. Tickets come up but it says "standing Room Only tickets are good for entry to Busch Stadium the U2 Concert on July 17th. People with Standing Room Only can stand in designated areas of the ballpark but will not be allowed on the Field for the show." WTF...so there's GA tickets in other areas? If I buy tickets off of stubhub how do I know I'm getting a GA field ticket and not a standing room only ticket?

I've never heard of that either. I've heard of Lawn tickets in a venue in Jersey. They will have pit tickets, and lawn tickets. Lawn is just a gently sloping hill at the back of the last row in the outdoors arena, and people can use beach chairs or spread blankets to sit on the hill and still enjoy the concert even though they won't be up close. It's generally cheaper than the cheapest seats.

Maybe because the STL stadium is small and demand is high that they opened up this standing room only tickets? But I don't know how you will be able to tell on stubhub whether you're getting GA or that other kind. Are they also called General Admission?

yeah the website says "GA/SRO"

I just looked further into some tickets on stubhub and some say "field GA" I guess if I can go to this show and I have a choice between seats and standing room only I'd rather get seats. I'm not opposed to seats but this SRO stuff looks lame. There's tickets for the TCF show available that actually show the SRO section and it's practically on the roof. The St Louis show does not show you where you are standing, at least I don't think. I didn't look too hard at the seating chart once I saw that explanation of GA/SRO.

Just returned from Denver all i can say is WOW! what a great show as i'm sure you all read.
Only down side was that i was still sick and sitting outside basically in a wind tunnel didnt help me out, but all totally worth it.
We were on the side almost beind the stage and the sounds and sights were great...
Didnt get a chance to meet any fellow fans from here, but did share a taxi with 6 others which was memorable in itself as we had people sitting on laps driving to the show :)
Ready for the MSP show and not being sick!

^ I was in Denver too, sorry I missed the chance of meeting you there. I had a blast at that show! I lined up early enough to get the front outer rail, and boy, that was an outstanding view. It was great to see the boys back onstage! Hopefully I'll meet you in MSP!

My aunt is running to be on the Aquatennial Senior Court and invited me to be her escort for the event on July 22. Thankfully, it is a lunch and not a dinner (I think), so I still will be able to make the get-together the night before. (I was a little concerned, but could not say no.)

Minneapolis Aquatennial

hey, I was thinking of going to the Aquatennial. It made the list of Top 10 Things to do in the Summer by National Geographic Traveller, and when I saw it's in Minneapolis AND it's during that weekend in July, I thought of stopping by! Is parking going to be a nightmare? Where would the best spot be?

It depends on what you are going to see. I think many of the events happen the weekend before the concert.

:reject: I've never done anything Aquatennial, but I will make a milk-carton boat to race before I die.

I don't know what I want to see. Maybe the milk carton race...

Hahahaha at the inflatable cow! :lmao:

I have STL GAs. Dunno if my sister's coming or not, but at any rate, wanna carpool? I don't care whose car, but sharing gas money would be nice. :) I don't have a hotel booked or anything (was planning on sleeping in my car for this one since I just got the tickets/wasn't planning on going originally--but if sharing, hotel'd be fine.)
