    Sphere #2 setlist party

I’ve listened to this show from start to finish on u2brothr’s stream. I’m taken aback at how fantastic they sound. I almost have a sense that they needed compete against the visual overload, so as not to sound like a backing track. I think Bram is the difference. He is bringing a faster...

    Coldplay - Everyday Life

This is an error, Everyday Life is a lovely album and the one you absolutely should listen to, given your criticisms.

    Coldplay - Everyday Life

And Paradise, while by design will never be as good as the best Parachutes or AROBTTH songs, is about as excellent as pop music gets in my eyes. A hit, a great song and a worthy part of their legacy. The problem isn't songs like Paradise – it is trying to repeat the appeal and success of songs...

    The Killers - Battle Born

Oooft, I bloody love Blowback! Everything about it, the production, the vocals, the melody… in fact, my only criticism of the track is that the musical climax of the song doesn’t continue on for long enough, but I’m okay with being left wanting more. Especially when other tracks really hit that...

    The Killers - Battle Born

Interesting. As mentioned, I love ITM, but Lightning Fields and Running Towards a Place are my two least favourite moments on the album.

    Coldplay - Everyday Life

Just posting in here to say that Higher Power is meh. But the shameless marketing of the single as if it is the greatest pop single since Call Me Maybe is just fucking embarrassing and shameless.

    The Killers - Battle Born

Best album since Sam's Town, I reckon. I have elevated it from my original ranking of being behind Battle Born and Day & Age. Those two albums meant more to me at the time, but I was somewhat blinded by my love for the band as well. As an album though, Imploding the Mirage just hangs together...

Next Album Rumours Thread II - Songs of Ass Scent

Sounds like the beginning of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock.

Sea Girls - Open Up Your Head

I really liked them when I first heard All I Want to Hear You Say, about 18 months ago. Since then I feel they shot their wad creatively and I found the album a pretty flat affair. I didn't dislike it, but don't know they're exceptional enough to hold interest going forwards. Time will tell.

    The Killers - Battle Born

Interesting how there are so many differing perspectives on TK, often with the 1-2 ballast of Hot Fuss and Sam’s Town being the common thread (but so often switching for many). Hot Fuss got me into The Killers, and Mr. Brightside and All These Things That I’ve Done are unimpeachable. But Sam’s...

    The Killers - Battle Born

I love it, much more consistent than Wonderful Wonderful and a cohesive, driven vision. I'd love them to take it down a notch after this, but as a single statement of an album, I'm a big fan.

    Coldplay - Everyday Life

I'm not afraid to die, I'm not afraid to live. And when I'm flat on my back, I hope to feel like I made sure I settled scores on the Internet.

The person is a fool who is overreacting and indignant when called out for the behaviour — but “comic relief” is not an incorrect phrase.

    Coldplay - Everyday Life

I think you’re wrong on this. Both on Orphans and the SNL performance. Orphans is as poppy as the album gets, but it makes sense in context. And that context by far outstrips the last three albums (though I have a personal love for MX). And the performance on SNL... well that just seemed...

They best have, because if they don’t play it in Perth, I’m blaming your reviews.

Anyone listen to the leak? This is their best work since Viva, possibly even Rush of Blood.

Some Kind of Love is my favourite song of all time, but on my least favourite Killers album.

The Joshua Tree Tour 2019 - Show & Setlist Discussion

I disagree — R&H is what came next. What I’d change, is I’d have them playing All I Want is You as an epic main set closer. If they did that, swapped Bad & Pride, and replaced Elevation with The Fly... I’d call this a perfect setlist, in the context of playing JT in full.
