    Game of Thrones, continued

I've just started watching season 1 again. My word, there's just no comparison with season 8. The worst part about these final 2-3 seasons that just aimed at having unexpected, spectacular moments is that it made everything so inconsequential. I just didn't care for the characters anymore. I'm...

The National: Sunshine on My B&Ck

The ending of Quiet Light reminds me a lot of This Is the Last Time. The latter is an all-timer for me and the former could become one as well.

    Game of Thrones, continued

I'd say chances of that happening are above 80%. I also don't believe the story can be finished in only two books.

Random Music CXXVI: The Woy Eet Eez

As a big Manchester United fan, these last few days (or years) haven't been great. Also doesn't help me in liking this track.

How do you know Bassackwards but not Loading Zones? I'm also jumping on the Weyes Blood train. Great album.

This Weyes Blood talk reminds me of a track of her last album that I was absolutely blown away by. I hadn't listened to it in ages but it's still as great as ever. The part that starts around 02:15 and ends around 03:35 is just amazing. If it was a bit shorter I could say it was the best...

Even though I'm not the biggest Boxer fan, I'm still bummed I missed this.

I don't think you could make me more excited to listen to a record. Can't be as good as I'm imagining it right now.

I love TWFM, more than Sleep Well Beast, but I often skip I Should Live in Salt. It's just a plodding track as Dan mentioned. The other one I typically skip is Slipped. Now that I think of it, I do seem to have a problem with their plodding songs in general. Runaway is another example. I guess...

Glad to hear you're doing better Ax. I went through my votes on a certain music website to see which albums should rank at the top of my list. I only gave two albums of this decade 5*: Good Kid Maad City and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. There are a lot of albums that Ie given 4,5*...

shuttlecock XXIV: it's the little swings

Damn, I missed the original title. The Patti Smith cover is pretty nice. It's still a great opening track.

Same goes for Spotify. I'm "following" Deerhunter but I didn't see anything about it this morning.

Really? Man, one of the big advantages of not being as up to date on music as I once was, is finding out about awesome news like this out of the blue. Sadly, you also miss stuff.

I was just coming in here to post about it. The first song sounds like a classic James Blake track. The second song is a bit different though...

I've not even listened to the debut. Heavenfaced is not very interesting for the most part, but has a beautiful, emotional ending I feel.

Merry Christmas everyone! I invested in two Play Ones during Black Friday. Was thinking of getting a Play 5 but there was no discount on that one.

Yeah, Runaway has a decent claim to be the worst The National track.

Do you mean that they're not an album band or am I misinterpreting? Because I would strongly disagree with that. All their albums have at least one or two weaker tracks, but doesn't that go for nearly every band?

I have the same with High Violet. I never have the desire to listen to it, even though it's the album that got me into The National. Now that I'm thinking about, I don't even know why I never listen to it as it is a very good album with some fantastic tracks: Terrible Love, Afraid of Everyone...

What happened with Pinegrove? I actually had no idea they had a new album out, while Cardinal was one of my favorites of 2016. I've clearly had a bad year wrt following new music.
