Random Music Talk CXXXI: Interference Finally Gets Its Revenge on Cobbler

I'll definitely give that a go. Do hope it's less of a slog than that latest Carlos Niño & Friends album.

Setlist Discussion Part II - Spoilers Allowed, Enter At Your Own Risk

R&H is the only non classic U2 album they could play 4 songs from that would mostly be considered near classic hits. War would be the only other album coming anywhere close. If the people in Spere are already not reacting that wildly to the less familiar AB songs, I don't expect them to double...

Random Music Talk CXXXI: Interference Finally Gets Its Revenge on Cobbler

It's got a good riff, is well produced, but otherwise has nothing there that will ever prompt you to look for the song on a playlist because you really want to listen to it again. Not too dissimilar to something like "You're the best thing about me" but then with even less appeal.

Personally, I find Pageant somewhat overrated in the R.E.M. catalogue. That side one (+ I Believe) is all gold . Side two suffers too much from the pairing of What If We Give It Away and Just A Touch, which still feel like unfinished demo's.

The new Smashing Pumpkins (while a ridiculous triple album) is really, really good. I'm very pleasantly surprised.

Agreed on the new Metallica album. Probably half an hour too long, but still the most enjoyable thing they have done in quite a while. For me We Cater to Cowards by Oozing Wound still the metal album to beat in 2023 though. And I think I also slightly prefer Liturgy's 93696 over 72 Seasons.

New Album Discussion 10 - Songs of Sir, this is a Wendy's, durr

The version on UF is special, but this version has a better balance. Or something. Love it

New Album Discussion 10 - Songs of Sir, this is a Wendy's, durr

I admire Radiohead's approach to both music and the music business. I don't like their music much, though. People who think U2 and Radiohead truly are comparable must not be aware of how big U2 really was in the 80s.

    Sans Larry ?

U2 fans apparent inability to accept that they don't need to go see the band (a dozen times every tour) or that the band's decision on what they want to pursue is not what they want the band to do, is something to behold. Unfortunately not in a good way,

I did not like that they removed the essence out of Pride, but for some reason I do really enjoy the new With Or Without You (without it ever being anywhere near as spectacular as the original). So far sounds like this will be an interesting listen, though I do fear that all the songs will get...

Songs of _________________; New album discussion #7

Song for Someone has beautiful verses and an ok chorus, but to almost repeat the guitar solo from Crazy Tonight is just weird

Latest Lambchop album is superb. I still sort of miss the "How I quit smoking" - "Is a woman" years though.

    Red Hot Chili Peppers Thread

My first listen (of the first 12 songs, it is too long) left me feeling ... somewhat bored. Don't get me wrong, there wasn't a bad song there and the musicianship (especially Chad Smith and Flea) is great to magnificent, but it was all very mid-tempo. Could just be that I was in the wrong...

    Your song saved my life

The first time I heard the song I didn't feel the need to hear it again, but since my 7yo is really into Sing I heard it again a couple of times and actually really enjoy it now. It pleases me a lot that my children are now getting introduced to U2 .

I thought it was a very solid album with a nice mix of traditional songwriting and more modern production
