So does TNT match the Prime video broadcast terms, or have we seen the last of Ernie, Kenny, Chuck and Shaq as a collective?
No. And no.

First, there's one more year left on the current deal.

I also don't think Chuck will retire. There's a world where Turner keeps NBA TV and the show in lives on there. There's also the possibility that it jumps to Turner or NBC. So no, I don't think that's it. But we'll see.

honestly - Philly P is either going to be really good or an absolute clusterufck and i am so here for it.

somebody get the Hard Knocks folks to follow this team around. PG's first podcast after a bad loss? Jared McCain doing a silly tik tok dance in the locker room after going 2 for 15? i want to be there for all of it.

i'm glad to see that this is getting some traction.

it's absolutely true. duncan was better than kobe. he just didn't have the same hype. every advanced metric, everything that modern nba teams use to measure players, has duncan ahead of kobe - and by a good margin. kobe was never rated as the best player in the league at any point in his career.

Can someone explain to me the rationale of paying Charles Barkley 21m/year to do that?

He's certainly more valuable to TNT than Tom Brady is to Fox, at 16 million less per year.
The NFL is a bigger business than the NBA. Much bigger. That explains the Brady vs Barkley salary disparity.

I think Barkley is fantastic and hope he lands somewhere else. Actually, I hope TNT's lawsuit against the NBA is successful and they retain broadcast rights for this next contract and Amazon is shut out, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I am overall pleased with the Sixers' offseason, mostly because there really was not a better path forward. Some criticized the "eggs in one basket" approach of getting a third max player in Paul George, but there simply was not a better way to spend that money. If there was criticism, it was pursuing a cap space plan in the first place. But overpaying for KCP to free up a few extra dollars for fourth and fifth starters was not tenable, and probably won't be in this CBA era (CJ McCollum should be in jail for fucking up those negotiations so badly). The NBA middle class is dying and free agency is almost dead.

Would have liked to have Nic Batum back, but he clearly wanted to go back to LA and took less money to do so. Caleb Martin on that contract feels like a steal. Yabusele is a great flyer to take on a vet minimum considering the need for forward depth. And the Sixers kept all of their draft capital in the process, so they have some other moves to make as the season goes on.

Congratulations to Tobias Harris on getting another undeserved bag. I hope I never see that man play basketball again in my life. It can trick you into hating this sport.

Please stop trying to make the Angel Reese for Rookie of the Year a thing, ESPN. It's not. She's shooting less than 40% from the field and shoots every shot inside of 3 feet, and Caitlin Clark is changing the game.

Not only that, they kept Reese in last night's game to the end, during a blowout, just so she could get another double double. Gotta pad those stats to make it look like a true ROTY contest!

Angel Reese is literally breaking all time season league records as a rookie as well so I'm not sure it's "utterly pathetic" to at least put her in the ROTY conversation.

My brother in Christ, more than a third of her rebounds are from her own missed shots. She shoots less than 40% from the field and 90% of her shots are from inside of 5 feet.

And that's not even bringing up the very real fact that her coach has been leaving her in at the end of blowouts so that she can stat pad.

It's not to say she isn't a good rebounder. She is. But there's a bit more to it than the stat alone would have you believe.

It's insane that the same network that accused Nikola Jokic of stat padding two years ago is ignoring what Reese and the Sky are doing.

My darling, I didn't say it was a close race right now, just that it isn't insane to talk about it. almost any other year, Angel would easily be ROTY. they're both killers. hopefully we're still arguing about this rivalry in 2034. 😘
