Typical U2 Hater List (feel free to add)

Yes I love Outside as well! 'A Small Plot Of Land' is epic, and Hallo Spaceboy is an acknowledged classic.

Bono is starting to sing One properly again

YouTube - ‪U2 ~ One Love ~ July 2, 2011 ~ 360 Tour ~ Nashville, TN‬‏ This is from Nashville. On the whole, this is one of the strongest performances I have heard in a while. Bono's restraint is pleasing. He does not oversing, he does not sing behind the melody, and generally-speaking, his...

Glastonbury Setlist Party II: Electric Boogaloo

I thought they did well. Yes, they were nervous (perhaps no bad thing) but they were effective. It was nice to hear a lean version of 'One': no lengthy introduction, no oversinging or singing behind the melody. In fact, I haven't heard Bono sing it in quite that way for a long time. I would have...

    Anaheim Setlist Party

Is it just me or is Bono starting to sing One properly again? The Anaheim version is far from perfect but at least he keeps it simple. At times, his voice sounds somewhat like its early 90s incarnation. Listen to how he sings 'have you come here for forgiveness, have you come to raise the dead?'...

Is there an album on the horizon? (AKA New Album Speculation)

Hollow Island is spot on about the success of U2 singles in Canada. Indeed, I get frustrated when band bangs on about SATS not being a hit. It is just a myth to suit its narrative about Pop. SATS might have flopped in America but it reached number 3 in the UK, which was four places higher than...

Is there an album on the horizon? (AKA New Album Speculation)

Doctor Who makes some very interesting points. I agree that Magnificent, Breathe or Moment of Surrender could well have delivered a hit for U2 had one of those been released first. Magnificent married neo-classical U2 with dance rhythms very effectively. Breathe was fiery enough to get radio...

    Buenos Aires III Setlist Party

Well it's obvious isn't it? Bono will start the show with a solo rendition of Acrobat, before the Edge launches into the crunching opening chords of Zoo Station. Now that is dreaming out loud!

    Buenos Aires I Setlist Party

Thank God U2 have had the guts to resurrect EBTTRT- much better!

Songs U2 need to Bring back on 360 Tour

Here are seven I would like to see: Mofo Discotheque Even Better Than The Real Thing Desire (electric, not the wimpy acoustic rendition) Last Night On Earth Zooropa Zoo Station.

Project Zero One / Songs of Ascent / New Album Discussion

I am finding it all increasingly tiresome. I feel like making a curmudgeonly prediction There probably won't be an album until 2013. They will drop most of the Danger Mouse material; instead, they'll go back to Lillywhite, and we'll get a stodgy, overcooked HTDAAB part 2. Bono will say that the...

2011 tour rumours/discussion/timothius memorial thread, part III

Well that is your opinion, of course. I know what I prefer, and that is his ZOO TV voice.

    Gone Vs. Gone

Neither version even gets near the live rendition on Popmart. If I had to choose, I would take the album cut.

November 22, 2004 - 6th Anniversary of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb

I don't care how many Grammys it won, for me it's their worst album. Still, no U2 record is without its saving graces- Vertigo and COBL are classics and I have a sneaking admiration for that ambiguous little love song, A Man And A Woman.
