I must say I totally believe this tho because the area and community called La Jolla where this is, is a gorgeous piece of coast that a lot of rich and snooty and totally clueless people live that think they own the right to be rich and snooty and totally clueless.

Remember those SD pics I posted? The ones looking west and north are the community of La Jolla. It's San Diego's equivalent of Los Angeles' Malibu.

This is the same strip of beach the way it looked for many years as I was growing up. We would play in the water here all the time.

Over the years around in my 20's maybe, the sea lions began to move in. After a while they put up the fence and signs to protect them and now they OWN the place. (these are more current pics taken of same beach but looking from opposite direction.)

Ok actually that first photo I think is a different piece of the cove, but it's all the same spot. I couldn't find a photo from the same exact spot actually. But anyway, the spot is called the children's cove because it was a "safe" spot with the wall there that was where people brought their kids. I guess the seals decided it was a good spot for their kids too. :D

OMG, I hadn't heard a thing about that and I live about 5 minutes from there. Whut. The. Fuck. LMAoooooooo. Ok The People for Odor Abatement Whut??? I think they mean the People WhoNeed to HaveA Catscan and Get a Clue. LOL.
Yes let's chase all the wildlife away because they poo on the rocks that we humans OWN and have a right to non-smelly poo air!!! Oh good grief!!

Yeah is fucking ridiculous. When I read the article it intermediately stank like snobs trying to think they are better than mother nature and have the right to chase animals away from their natural habitat.
Funny thing is, ALL of the animals there are 100 % (Super FAT:cute:) Seals, seals tend to stink less than sealions. So they are more lucky the sealions don´t come and chill so much ashore like that. They tend to chill out on buoys.

I do know they can smell pretty bad. But that is the risk of buying a house at a boulevard anyway. The sea stinks when algae are dying after summer, dead whales etc. can beach and that can be very bad too, and then you both have seals and sealions there.

Do some research and you should've known.

Anyway the pics you showed me is a place that is very known for its extreme animal protection. I heard you are not allowed to enter the beach without being lynched by the people who watch the place.

:giggle:

Also, some of the most beautiful pics of seals I've EVER seen where made there.
Would love to go diving there on a clear day.

 Wow that's amazing!

Joyce, we're going there!

Give my bankacount some time to recover after NZ :sad:
We would want to go in the summerish time. I think xD
The ideal situation if U2 would land in SD around CC , lol. Dream on.

Wow I didn't know the place was so well known in anywhere else around the world! It's almost literally my backyard and where I grew up. I could drive you there from my house in a few minutes. I really should go down and try to get a few photos of my own. :hmm:

OH and yes coming to SD during CC is great even if you can't get a ticket which is pretty hard to get! Because the nightlife around CC during that week (even all day long) is incredible with plenty to do and celebs just pouring out of woodworks. You go in the area restaurants, clubs etc all in walking distance and see famous people everywhere. Last summer we got that pic of us in the hotel lobby with James Marsters. (Spike) Amog many others.

Getting tickets for comic con, yikes, I didn't even think about that:lol: You are so right, Its must be a nuthouse there. Would be pretty bummed to go there and not get in.

I don't really think its that famous. I just read and try to watch everything I can about seals to keep myself sharp and learn as much as I can about them. Doesn't matter which species.
The combination of that and a passion for photography, pretty much got me on reading about Childrens Pool. Funny. Its a "small world" after all.

Realising you live so close to there and even grew up going to the beach at THAT spot.

Internet is weird "meeting" people there can be such a fitting coincidence.

Do any of you have trouble with playing the U2.com video content. since they switched to the new site , all I can see during a video play is moving pink and green pixels... :|

Wow, Comet! Those pictures are gorgeous! The color of the water so beautiful! Love the sealions sunning themselves on the beach.

I'm able to play the video however a few of the links don't work properly. When I try to hover over the video content drop down menu I am not able to access some of the video at the bottom of the screen. The menu disappears.

Oh yeah I meant "famous" to people like you: sea animal wildlife type people. :cute:

And yes, small world! Amazing!! I'm going to go down there maybe tomorrow if I get the chance to see about getting you some pics. :D

And as far as Comic-con tix, seriously my kids and I have even recently talked about the fact that we would even enjoy skipping trying to deal with the ticket headaches and horrendous crowds INSIDE Comic-con and spend those days and nights hanging out in the Gaslamp Quarter and general area outside and around the convention center and CC. We pretty much enjoy that these days as much as CC itself because it's so crowded. Many of the CC things to do now are held in the surrounding downtown area. The nightlife is a blast, and you have a much better chance at meeting and actually talking to the stars outside the actual panels and meet and greet events inside, lol!

I need to go get some photos of my own from there, the ones I posted were just ones I found online so Gg and domo could see the beach. :D But now I really do wanna go see if I can get some good ones!

Oh and yes I meant Children's Pool is the name of it, not children's cove. The area is La Jolla Cove.

Thanks Jj ! Thats what I need :D

I saw someof the Comic con lines for panels last year. I wouldn't want to waste half my day standing in line xD so I see you point! I can not even imagine how big that event is and chilling downtown seems like a better idea.
Just people watching and having fun !

Spike

Or should I say Demon King Piccolo. God that was one horrible live action movie!

CC sounds awesome, but I'm afraid at the sheer size of it. I know it sounds weird since I can handle a U2 crowd, but I don't know if I can handle that many people walking around and such. With U2 I'm usually in front so I don't see the masses, and in the pit it's less crowded as well. :crack:

But I definitely would love to go and to the seals too. :D

:uhoh: And then I still have to save up for NZ, damn. U2, you're wrecking my savings once again! :fist:

Oopps... Well, the photos are still beautiful. :reject:

Sweetness.

Edge's brown jacket:

Bono's skinny little tour-ready hips:

Adam's nose in the air, so above this that I'm not even going to pretend to sing along on the chorus and am totally not insecure that I can't sing for shit expression:

Larry's :| face: :|
^ This! Perfect observation, as always, Jeevey! I sense a tour's a-brewin'! When's the Super Bowl?
