2017 Joshua Tree Tour: Ticket Prices

fan club does offer good seats if you're willing to spend big After several frustrating attempts yesterday, I was able to buy a ticket for the June 14 show in Tampa, Florida. I can't do GA because I'm a very small person and I would get trampled. So I tried to buy a seat on Level 1. The website...

They're supposed to announce the rest of the nominations at 2 p.m., according to news reports.

    2015 U2 Tour News - Continued

Well, I guess I don't have to worry about trying to buy tickets tomorrow. There are NO tour dates scheduled in 2015 in the southeastern United States (I live in Georgia.) We Southerners always get shafted. This sucks! (Hopefully there will be another leg of the tour in 2016 -- but that is a long...

U2 (Minus Bono) playing in NYC Tonight

Bono will NOT be attending, because the press release quotes him as "speaking from Dublin." So presumably he's gone back to Ireland to recuperate. I take that as a good sign, that the doctors felt he was well enough to fly home.

    U2.com's latest subscription "gift"

U2.com has just announced the new bonus gift for ordering or renewing a subscription. It is a double vinyl album of a rare, early U2 performance. Well, that sounds great -- except that I suspect there a lot of fans (including me) who do not have the equipment to play a vinyl album and are not...

U2 all week on jimmy fallon starting nov 17

I did notice that for most of the rest of the week, they didn't bring in any last-minute musical guests. Instead, they mostly had stand-up comedians, and one night they had chef Mario Batali (who happens to be friends with U2).

    Bono injured in cycling accident

I, too, find it hard to believe that Bono would be lucid enough right now to write an article. I have been a professional journalist for 35 years. I make my living by writing every day, and I've done it plenty of times under adverse circumstances. But I can't imagine writing about Ebola while...

    Bono injured in cycling accident

Last night it occurred to me that the chorus of this song kind of describes Bono's current, heavily medicated situation: Sleep like a baby tonight In your dreams, everything is all right Tomorrow dawns like someone else's suicide But you're gonna sleep like a baby tonight I'm sure he wishes...

    Bono injured in cycling accident

no laughing matter Oh my god, I just now learned the extent of Bono's injuries, and I felt sick to my stomach. He didn't just "fall off" a bike; he had a high-speed collision that literally shattered parts of his body. He -- and we -- are lucky that he's even alive. And I honestly cannot...

U2 all week on jimmy fallon starting nov 17

Oh, you just haven't lived until you've seen Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake do their parody of the BeeGees.

U2 all week on jimmy fallon starting nov 17

BTW, Fallon wasn't the only talk-show host doing a U2 bit last night. Stephen Colbert claimed he had found Bono's lost luggage that had fallen out of the plane. It was pretty funny. He also allegedly found a suitcase belonging to the Edge -- it contained nothing but knit caps!

U2 all week on jimmy fallon starting nov 17

In his intro, Fallon acknowledged that the musical guest was "Not U2," but said, "We'll have a performance of some sort." I didn't know what to expect, but I was blown away by what he came up with. There is no other talk-show host who could have done a spot-on rendition of "Desire" like he did...

    Bono injured in cycling accident

It's weird because as I was getting out of the shower this morning, I had a feeling of trepidation about U2's "residency" on the Tonight Show. Jimmy Fallon has been promoting it so heavily for the past 10 days or so, and I couldn't help thinking, "Don't count your chickens before they're...

    Close call for Bono

Maybe the gremlin from The Twilight Zone's "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" loosened the bolts on the door. ;) I do think the angels, if they exist, must have a fondness for Bono. After all, he's written several songs about them.

    Close call for Bono

The skeptic in me has to wonder: U2 have been doing a media blitz the past few weeks to promote the new album. Any chance this story was just manufactured to get Bono's name in the news even more?

    Close call for Bono

It's true that this was no big deal and we can joke about it. But it's also true that musicians are much more likely than the average person to die in a plane crash, because they're constantly traveling. R.I.P.: Otis Redding, Ricky Nelson, Aaliyah, John Denver, Patsy Cline, Jim Croce, Ronnie...

    Early Grammys chatter

I don't think they'll win anything – still too much hatred going on. But I do think it's possible that Bono will get a nomination for vocal performance, because he does some pretty incredible stuff on this album.

    U2 at the EMA'S???

Bono kicked it up a notch for the cameras I've watched that "Every Breaking Wave" clip six times in a row and it's just beautiful. And yes, Bono was putting way more passion into the performance than he could possibly sustain during an ordinary concert. But it was a calculated move. He knew...

    Responding to the haters

As I said, I haven't been on the website in a long time, so I have not yet had the opportunity to read all the comments on that issue. I created a new thread because I didn't know where else to post this editorial. It was written for a general audience, not for U2 fans. I just thought someone...

    Responding to the haters

I've been a member of Interference for a number of years but I've been away for a while. Now the new album has me all fired up about U2 again, and I wrote an editorial about it at the newspaper where I work. Here it is: Deb’s column – Oct. 30, 2014 It’s all about the music I usually don’t have...

From The Sky Down - 25.11 - DVD and BD European release date

The up side is that I'll be giving myself a very late Christmas present. If it's released on January 24, I'll probably get it in the mail around Feb. 1 -- a Groundhog Day gift!

From The Sky Down - 25.11 - DVD and BD European release date

There's still no listing for it on Amazon U.S. Why are they waiting so long to release the DVD here? Do they not understand Christmas is coming soon and a lot of people would like to buy this item as a gift (for themselves!)

    R.E.M. have broken up

Yeah, Stipe playing "Password" with the Muppets was one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. If I hadn't taped the show, I would have thought I was dreaming and it didn't really happen. But it was pretty funny.
