When last night's show came to a close, I felt a bit sad that the performances we'd all waited for had ended, BUT...I feel sooo high and inspired now!!!
The way U2 can uplift you...it's amazing!
Thanks Irishdove.
I must admit, U2 throughout the 80's really seemed to me, to be an alternative group.
How I wish I got to experience being a fan properly back then!
This is a question especially for any fans who were into U2 during their early years -
Were U2 ever considered a "cult" band prior to say, 1985? Before they broke into the "mainstream" so-to-speak - whether it be from the Live Aid performance or the release of The Joshua Tree.
My idea is...
Depeche Mode - Playing The Angel
The latest and one of the greatest DM albums in a long time!
Who's got it?
What do you think?
Standout tracks include:
Suffer Well (great words and great beat. I wanna dance!)
John The Revelator (ROCKS!! Has similarities to Personal Jesus)
Lilian (VERY...
LOVE their stuff! :hyper:
Well, at least from what I've heard. I have a copy of If I Die, I Die and it's brilliant!!
I've every intention of getting the other albums.
It's great Mute have reissued them on cd.
I love it, one of my favourite U2 songs to dance to.
I find a real darkness to the original version. I think it has to do with its production by Martin Hannett, who worked with Joy Division.
I'm afraid you're taking my comments far too seriously, or not getting what I'm saying!
If I'm "having a go" at anyone, it's only ever been at myself for being too fanatical!
