I do feel like the reviewer has misinterpreted a few things there. I’ve also noticed a trend in reviews of the album that they assume I/me in the songs means Bono and I’m not sure that is always the case. It’s undoubtedly a personal album but I think there are characters in there too...
I really like Little Things but it sounds like what I would expect a good U2 song to sound like at this stage of the band. This on the other hand is so fresh and sounds great, one of their best songs in a very long time IMO. Reminiscent of War days but brought right up to date. The chorus is so...
I always thought this sounded flat when they played it a Jools Holland, but just listened to the boot of Chicago 5 and it seemed to go over really well. It is a bit baffling it's not been played more - thought when the album came out this was a lock for when we saw them in LA!
Having watched the video of this from Belfast 1, I must say that the adapted visuals did a great job and if anything made the song more powerful.
The modern attitude that somehow remembering one tragedy diminishes the others is a bit depressing though, particularly in light of Paris. It...
I only ever saw the stadium Vertigo show and it was OK, but I much preferred 360 and I+E. If you're talking about weak encores then finishing with All Because of You, Yahweh and Vertigo (again) was a serious low point after the highs of the Zoo mini-set to open the encore...
Elevation was great...
^Good post. That Staples Center show looks a bit of a disaster apart from Please!
I attended one of the LA shows (Sunday night) and London #3. London #3 blew it out of the water, partly due to the performance but mainly due to the flow of the setlist. It's annoying they aren't changing things...
I'd guess an 8pm start on the Sunday and 8.30pm on the other nights but don't shoot me if you miss the start! I'll be aiming to get there for about 7pm on the 29th.
Never heard of nonsense like this outside the U.S and Canada. I went to one of the LA shows and people acted like they owned their spot on the floor and the surrounding area because they'd been in the magical queue, and dished out abuse to anyone that dared encroach. It was pathetic. The same...
Does anyone know how early you have to lineup so that you can behave like an ass to people that turned up hours later and ended up standing next to your precious spot?
After my presale issues earlier in the day, I finally got my codes through and got 2 GAs in London (3rd night) and LA (4th night). My first overseas U2 show. So excited! :D
