If that's what he needs to think to help him sleep at night, so be it. But as a 30-something who grew up for the last 22 years on a steady diet of U2, all U2 and nothing but U2, how do you explain the fact that I loathe this album?

I'm going to try to put my own personal disappointment with both the tour and the album aside, but I think collectively we're hitting on some good points here... Re: "Family Friendly" setlist...I don't think it's necessarily "family friendly" but "radio friendly" and thus "setlist/live...

No different than the maybe 200-300 lining the catwalk in a stadium that seats 80,000...

I plan mine carefully. I lamented the loss first of When Love Comes to Town/Angel of Harlem and then of Bullet...those were a good 6-7 minutes and usually an empty ladies' room. :D

I agree. I don't think anything else on there can stand up on its own live. JMHO though. I loved the song on the album, but live, with the canned falsetto and no Adam doing the talking, there was no point in doing it at all, other than to see Bono wandering the stage pointing at and...

They get the break for the Desmond Tutu schpiel...that eliminates the need for the encore break. Seriously, cut the film clips, video montages, etc. and just f*cking play. We could play two more songs in the time all the filler takes up. If you're up against a local curfew, don't cut into...

Maybe now...but I was doing this fanclub ticket thing when I was sending SASEs to Propaganda with money orders....I firmly believe they put the most advantageous seats aside for the fan club. My seats the last two tours were just as good as the mail-in money order days.

Me too...I got through in the first minute of the first pre-sale and was 9 rows up on either side each night. One thing with this band, I've never been screwed with fan club seats, they have always, always been the best in the house...I'm talking 5 tours' experience now. I'd be curious to see...

They got seriously slapped around by the Boston Globe review the night before especially for this and the "lack of connection" that it led to and I felt they were on the catwalk/bridges a hell of a lot less in response to that criticism. I will admit I felt it made for a much more cohesive show...

Totally agree. I am the biggest skeptic and more than a little vocally critical about this band (look me up, you'll see) and I was wholly disappointed on Sunday night, it felt phoned in. But Monday more than made up for it. Personally, I think they read the Boston Globe review of Sunday and...

a) Yes, I did. b) Zoo TV was the last tour I truly loved, but I had the benefit of seeing three different legs with three different shows (Zooropa was the best). For Elevation I traveled over 24,000 miles to see 12 shows...so I think you could say I like them live. Or did. Now I've found...

And as I said 50 times already, that's precisely why they're NOT getting my money or my time on this tour. It's sad that you're so complacent with the repetition and don't want them to challenge themselves and their audience with an astounding back-catalog but rather keep parading out the same...
